This set up has yet to be tried. Obviously I will have to route the cable better. And there are other problems to overcome, like the kickstart lever (which I have heated and bent) will clear the footpeg but not the brake lever. So I plane to unhook the brake cable for starting!  (yes I got rid of the electric starter)

Also took me ages to polish hubs

Hi Mark,

Can I ask what Central wheels are charging I take it that you bought the rims then sent the hubs and rims to them for lacing with stainless spokes?

I'm thinking of using  Bridgestone BT45 100/90/V18 front and 120/90/V18 rear.  mind you I haven't sent my hubs off yet.  Still deciding who to send them too?

Hi Mark,

Can you tell me what rims are you getting and type, size and width.  I'm ready to send my hubs away for lacing. I'm thinking of 18 front and back front WM3 Rear WM4 with stainless spokes. Any reason not to use hagon or another company?

I'm also after possibly a CR750 tank, but also wavering towards a shorter fatter endurance style alloy tank. But not having much luck finding someone who makes one.  I was going down the CR750 copy route, but couldn't stop myself buying a set of MotoGPwerks 4-1 stainless pipes, so am now at a fork in the road,ha ha.  can't decide on the tank, seat unit, fairing!!!!! :(

I did this some time ago and still not finished the bike but I made a spacer to put the discs at the same distance from each fork leg, and am going to use a KOSO tacho so got rid of the cable drive and fitted a spacer see http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=74974.msg835181#msg835181
