Thanks to all that replied.Opted for Phantom black in the end, should have it all painted by end of March😁 I have found a place that produces new side panels for £30 they’re in Warwick.I managed repair one of mine that was cracked thought I’d pass info on as this price is less than Silvers

Both my badges 750F have same part number just bent them to shape. What keeps them in place on the tank? Rusty bits of some kind of retainer were on the badge pins, suppose I could just glue them in

Just looked at Footman James online and they won’t insure a bike unless it’s over 15 years old.I currently have 2 modern and 3 classics with Peter James ( now Miller James )

Peter James are now Miller James,I was just today charged £20 admin fee for trivial alteration to my policy, expecting a hike in my premium next month.I have modern and classics on a policy with what was Peter James have had for years now.No claims discount is not given on this policy I have.Carole Nash are total fu*kwits nothing more to say.

Don’t mention batteries lol.😂😂 I’ve had a Yuasa in my BMW on an Optimate for 3 years when it was new it’s died, one in my F1 wouldn’t recover after leaving ignition on,4 year old Yuasa from my Harley died so did my caravan leisure battery, and bu**er me 2 dry cell batteries in my mobility scooter have just died.Expensive time indeed,I use Tanya as they offer good fast service

Did the same thing on a car engine 38 years ago and bought this tool to run down and reclaim some thread using plenty of grease to catch any swarf created.

Dehumidifier on in my garage last few weeks  got to keep moisture at bay.Few years ago my wife would use the tumble dryer daily in the garage I didn’t realise that caused condensation causing chrome on my Suzy Kettle and wheel on my Hardley to rust🙀🙀 the dryers in the shed now

My understanding is that an old engine ( I’m talking old Brit ) has “bits/film” of crud stuck to it’s innards and using modern semi/full synthetic oils can loosen this crud via the additives/detergent in it.Would this apply to our SOHC fours?
That's a risk with any old engine that has been poorly maintained regardless of what oil is used. On our SOHC/4's, it is debris going around the engine, coming up the oil ways and blocking the oil restrictor jets that causes oil starvation to the cam and the result is catastrophic and very expensive to repair damage. It is the frequency of oil changes throughout an engines life that contributes towards mechanical and engineering longevity. It doesn't matter what oil it is as long as its changed regularly. Mineral for running in a newly built engine then on to semi synthetic. Never synthetic.

Being a lifelong tight wad :D I would never use synthetic oil,did once on a VFR but then used semi synthetic on all modern bikes.I stick religiously to oil change frequency, always have  :D
