I will need a new silencer before too long. This one is made by Sito of Italy. Does anyone have any experience of this make? If it fits ok etc?

That’s the same place that mine has corroded Mattsz although I don’t think mine is quite so bad as yours. In fact the chrome comes up quite nice with a polish. Also I think my baffles are breaking up as the silencer rattles as you move it.

Have just rung the Redditch number on Julie’s link for the silencer and spoke to a chap who says they will definitely be having some more silencers in stock in about 6 weeks time. He also said that Brituro in Birmingham are making them. So good news...

Thanks for all your replies. The Brituro one that Julie suggests sounds ideal for me, good fit and good price, it’s just finding one! Will look into getting it repaired in the meantime.

Let us know if you do - I'd be curious to know how it gets repaired...

I will mattsz. Mine not quite as bad as your photo suggest but it also rattles which I’m assuming is the baffles!

Thanks Ash. My down pipes and collector box are in pretty good shape, it’s just the silencer that’s not so good but the Yamiya silencer is very expensive. Will have a ring round and see if the links that Julie sent me are expecting any in stock any time soon.

Thanks Julie. Yes Silvers are out of stock. The EBay link is that to Brituro as they are showing out of stock as well? It does sound ideal though, thanks once again Julie for your quick reply.

CB350/400 / Silencer options

Evening all. I have my exhaust system off my 400/4 at the moment and on closer inspection I realise the silencer is quite badly rotting near the collecter box. Also when you move it it rattles, which I’m assuming is the baffles breaking up inside.
Am wondering is it worth getting the rotting part welded or braised and maybe get some more miles out of it or would the rattling noise make it unusable soon?
I see Silvers make a silencer, has anybody any experience of them and would it fit my existing down pipes / collecter Box? My exhaust has Sandtek 2002 stamped on it.
Thanks in advance.

It is a lovely day down south, just mind the maniac car and bus drivers down here. Got cut up at least 4 times on my ride into work. ( Heathrow)

I will K2-K6. Is Dave Silvers the best place to get a new filter from?

Rode my bike today without the air filter as suggested by Northy and seems to of solved the problem. Will try agaiin tomorrow and if ok will buy a new air filter. Also changed the gauze ( Scourer pad ) as it was a bit mucky. Thanks for the suggestions.
