after 18 months slowly reassembling my 400f i am nearly there. a dynatek ignition system came with the bike, after fitting new loom the power for the dynatek is taken from the black/white coil leads. i need now to time it statically, bodged up a headlight bulb with two wires, sooo where do i connect the wires to, starting with the blue 1/4 connection? dynatek instructions seem a bit vague (to me!)

If you go on the suns web site it will give you instructions for timing up, you don't need the bulb, just a strobe light.

i bought the bike as a rolling chassis with a professionally rebuilt engine and carbs,i have put the dynatek ignition on and with plugs 3 and 4 earthed to the head there are sparks. i now need to statically time it to be as accurate as possible to then get the bike to a chap to fine tune it for me. i'm told a headlight bulb is far too powerful and could damage the dyna electrics. as you might guess i'm not exactly an expert on these matters! kevski where will i find the sun site you refer to?

If you look online at dyna, you will be able to find which system you have with instructions on how to static time the system, i was assuming you have a strobe and were able to do the job.
