Title: CB750 Gasket sets
Post by: UKROBK7 on January 24, 2011, 08:11:20 AM
Has anyone used the NE brand gasket sets from David Silvers for a CB750 rebuild?  They are a low price compared to Vesrah etc.  What would you recommend?  David Silvers recommends using a Honda head gasket in place of the kit one.

Is the cylinder head on a CB750K7 unpainted (mine is) or was it originally painted.

Thanks Rob

I have just put my engine together using one, but i used a genuine honda F2 head  gasket inplace of the kit one, i will say the gaskets are paper thin. and will break real easy especially the rocker cover gasket,
i am not sure how they compare to other brandes as this is my first 750 engine build, but the gaskets that came out of my engine when i stripped it were much better quality

Thanks Pete.  This is my first 750 rebuild as well.  I have done a few rebuilds, Norton, BSA, Velocette and Honda but this is my first go at a four cylinder so I want to get it right and not to have to get the engine out of the frame again!!

When I was replacing gaskets using genuine Honda parts, which wern't that expensive at the time, I always bought a Honda top-end gasket set. I still have a number of Genuine Honda gaskets for a SOHC 750. These I have advertised in the 'For Sale' section. Unfortunately Peter had 750F2 head gasket for

Thanks Yoshi.  I have just ordered a gasket set from CycleX so I will see what the standard of that one is and if I need to replace any I will be in touch.  I did a complete costing for genuine Honda gaskets and valve seals last week and for the full engine set I think it came to just over
