Title: CB400four o-ring size sprocket shaft
Post by: eem46 on November 15, 2021, 12:55:18 PM
Dear All, Honda doesnt show the part/part number of this hidden o-ring under the metal sleeve, which goes into the crankcase seal of the chain sprocket axle.
Do you maybe now the size? My own quick check is 22mm inside and 2 mm thick

If you are sure of the measurements, might be worth giving these people a try. I've used them for O rings on an old 160 Honda. Very prompt service and a reasonable price if you're stuck.

Strange that it is not shown on the 400. On the 500 it is 91306703000 and marked 24.5mm but don't know the c/s.
Gasket sets often include it and wondered where it went as never needed one.

A dealer told me years ago that the shaft/sealing bush/bearing was not a strip down item and you bought the shaft with bearing and the sealing sleeve pre-assembled, maybe that is why the o ring is not listed, I replaced the bearing in the eighties, and the sleeve was hard to remove, but was not a tight fit on replacing, I secured it with a couple of tack welds.
