« on: May 15, 2019, 07:52:19 PM »
Does anyone know what this washer here does?

Mine managed to come without that and I have just spotted it on the CMS site.

Thanks

CB500/550 / CB500K1 FOUR ENGLAND PLATE, SPRKT SIDE 41211323000
« on: January 03, 2019, 08:57:04 PM »
Mine is pretty good but got a couple of dings (and it's now unavailable of course) which I could sort out quite easily but will not then be suitable for re-plating so I'm thinking of painting it (spray) with something as close as possible to the original finish (1970's Players No 6 fag foil or close) until I can track down a good one. Does anyone have any rattle can suggestions for this? Thanks.

CB500/550 / Centre stand pin seized solid
« on: October 12, 2018, 08:33:52 PM »
Just stripping the frame here ready for powder coating and the centre stand pin is seized in pretty good with many years rust. Tried giving it a couple of swift and very careful hits with a drift but it’s being a bit of a sod and not moving at all. This must be a common problem so is the best solution penetrating oil, heat then try moving it again?

Thanks guys.

New Member Introductions / New guy here from Lincolnshire
« on: September 25, 2018, 12:36:13 PM »
Hi guys,

Been a lurker for quite a while so I thought it was about time to register and put up a bit of a bio. I'm Steve from Allington just outside of Grantham and I am retired. I have just bought a CB500 four (not delivered yet hence no pic yet) to replace the one I had for a very short time back in the 70's. Been a died in the wool biker on and off since the early 70's but nowadays due to health, terrible roads here, traffic from hell and having the attention span of a goldfish any bikes are just an ornament that I pass the time of day buggering about with. It's in the blood.

Really enjoy reading the forum here so I thought it was time to step in and hopefully take part too.

Steve
