I understand that that bike was painted by Andrew Parnaby, who did my paintwork. The guy who was supposed to paint it couldn't finish it at the 11th hour so Andrew finished it off instead but he never got a mention in the magazine. Evidently that Candy Gold is one of the most difficult colours to get right. Andrew was painting one the same colur for John Wyatt last time I visited him. kent400 if you read closely you will see who reconditioned the clocks It's a USA import (not even a Genuine UK bike) so I would think it would have a chromed rear lamp bracket.

Well the carb still had deposits after immersion in cleaning fluid at 55 deg C in the US bath below. Think US cleaners are OK for gummed up carbs and getting to internal drillings etc. but not so sure about carbs that get acid rain inside them, when left outside, which causes corrosion to the zinc based alloy (white deposit possibly zinc carbonate). One thing to be careful of is that you can get black smutty deposits if you use the wrong cleaning fluid and you lose that nice blue sheen that the surfaces originally had. I will have another go tomorrow, as the cleaner would only go to ten minutes at a time (need to find manual to set for longer) . I had it on sweep & high boost burst so don't think it's anything to do with the US machine Here is the fluid I used diluted 1 part to 10 de-ionised water at 55 deg C ( as per instructions) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231219810941?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITHere is the machine I am using:- [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Funny .. Five minutes ago I have just put a carb. body from a CB750, that I am giving to elBurro on here, into the US cleaner with some new additive I just got from Allendale electronics that is supposed to be suitable for carbs and non- ferrous in general. They are in there at 55°C with the solution (they recommend a 10% solution at 50 ->60 °C. It's a big industrial US cleaner and will give you an appraisal in a couple of hours. The carb body has the white oxide on the inside, as you describe Julie.

When look at the price of a LiOn battery pack for a drill or a laptop that's not a bad price. Great for bikes that don't have a kickstart fitted .. why the hell did they stop fitting them?

can't find it in my parts books for K0/K1 check out your second pic ash its number 16 its on the brake section of book its not on the frame section @ trigger im sure its just to stop the brake pedal hitting the exhaust, and not an actual adjuster for the brakes though i aint seen one in years so i could be wrong
Yes I saw that part Steff but my point is I don't think the K0 or K1 had an adjustment bolt at all and Graham is talking about a K1 but my bike is in pieces so i can't check!

Not sure My 750K0 is in a million bits so over to Pete/James/Mick etc. to tell you if one is fitted to theirs. I can't see anything near the brake pedal mount on my K0 frame to mount one and I can't see anything in the 4/69 parts book or the combined K/K1/K2 one either . Pretty certain that the K1 did not have the large No.8 style head bolts fitted though.

Sorry for delay. Got this back from US site:
Re: Difference 064A and 657A CB750 carbs
657a and 064a bodies are interchangeable. Stamp only denotes which internals were installed at the factory. Unless you get real creative you cant swap positions due to the crossovers and vent tubes. Re: Difference 064A and 657A CB750 carbs « Reply #5 on: January 31, 2015, 07:43:29 PM » Quote The 657A carbs are not emission-controlled, the 064 versions are. The difference was/is in the taper of the idle air screws, which control the mixture to 2500 RPM, which [at the time] was the upper RPM limit for the EPA tests. In practice, the 7/8 - 1-1/8 turn mixture change of the 657 carbs is about 15% richer/leaner than the 64 series, due to more accurate tolerances in the later carb.
But, they will work fine together: you may find the 64 air screw must be set a bit further out than the other carbs, like 1/16 turn more, to make the plugs all the same color after 500 miles or so.
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE GOT ..PLEASE CHECK IF IT LOOKS SUITABLE AND THEN I WILL US CLEAN IT

Graham , the No.8 bolt kit to my knowledge is for Sandcast and some early K0's only. Interestingly my CB250K0 and 350k1 have quite a number of these rare bolts too with the large No.8 stamped into the hex head.
My sand-cast 4/69 Parts Mnual does not show a bolt fitted or the K,K1, .. see attached.
When a bolt is fitted it is M6x20 PN 92000-06020
Will check my brake pedal later...
Just checked mine and it has not got a bolt fitted (10/69 build) Ash ..

Think the 300 repros from both DC and CMS are Yamiya.. DS 341's are made in Italy I believe.
