Title: Clocks- refurbishing them

Has anyone got any tip to start this task- I guess Ive got to break the stainless-steel band to open the clock, but mine (the speedo) is well chipped and the odometer doesnt work- so a gear has probably moved or something. Plus, Id like to fill and spray them whre they are chipped on the caseing- most 2nd hand ones are not too pleasing and worse than my own!

I took my clocks apart for a refurb by just prying the SS ring up at the bottom lip, it can

Thanks , that will do the job- cant see the point in repalcing with waht might be worse!

Having read the article and having restored at least 30 of these gauges I don't think the method described is the best. I can email in pdf format an article I wrote for the yahoo 400f group and is on that site. Send a PM with your email address and I'll email it.
