Hi Steve,
You really need these springs, they are the rebound springs. Try open up your petrol tap say 1 or 2 minutes before you start, give it time to (re-)fill the bowls, works for me. Modern fuels seem to evaporate faster then the old ones. Cheers, Rob 33
CB750 / Re: should I use synthetic oil in my 750?« on: November 07, 2008, 04:30:48 PM »
You can use the full synthetic, but may have the tendency to let the clutch slip! I recommend the 'normal' 10W40 from Castrol or Valvoline, never had any issues with it.

I use the "S" on my replica racer and with good succes, good spark allround, very good starting. Enjoying it.
Have a Boyer for my Turbo projekt but think I eventually will go for a "2000" 35

I could post some pics of the lovely job done by CAT on these discs though if it's of interest? No worries, would like to see pic's of the discs. Cheers. 41

CB750 / Re: drive chain« on: March 22, 2008, 12:46:16 PM »
Hey Phil,
You can always use a set of off-set sprockets. 10 or 20 m/m off-set. Cheers, Rob 43
CB750 / Re: CB750 Front end "wobble"« on: March 21, 2008, 05:47:17 PM »
Hey Keith,
You're right about the front tyre size, it's to big. Try a 90/90-19, should do the trick. People tend to go to wide with their tyre's. Tyre pressure? Good luck, Rob 44
CB750 / Re: drive chain« on: March 17, 2008, 09:30:45 PM »
That's right, and the F2/K7 have also wider bearings at the outgoing shaft (sorry for my bad enlish here) to cope with the altered chain position caused by the wider rim/tyre combo.

CB750 / Re: roller bearing vs. swinging arm bushes?« on: March 17, 2008, 07:10:19 PM »
Hey Phil, everything on my bikes is 'homemade' so to speak. I know of the problems with Ti, but have no experience with it myself. Give me a pm about the prizes etc.
What I meant in my comments about the head of the F2, is that in day to day practice it's crap, mainly because of it's habbit to eat valve guides ie oil consumption. In theory it's a better design, it just doesn't show it. You're engine man may have a point about the exhaust valves, to big means loss of (air-)speed. Am very interested in the outcome of his investication. It really good to have someone like that 'around the corner'. Rob |
