Do you have a multimeter.. ?

You can swap the wires to see if the circuit causes the same issues on the faulty indicator then you know if you have a working indicator and then you can trace backwards.

Thanks all.. it may slow down a bit now due to funds as just bought the Delkevic exhaust for it.. its gorgeous!

I'm having the engine professionally painted and baked at a friends bodyshop he does quite a few bike so I'm hoping for good results.

That being said, I painted my XS750 engine black out of a Rattle can with UHT.. prepped it well and its still holding strong 2 yrs on.

« on: October 09, 2017, 03:37:55 PM »
Would anyone know if the riders foot pegs differ from 75 - 76 to 77?

I'd seen that in pre 77 models they are set further back? but that coul

I'm not planning rear sets as I'm have std bars but I'd like to move the position back if the pre models achieved this aim?

Thanks

Hi Adrian, I'll get some pics for you.

The front mudguard is ok but has a few dings.. seem to recall chain ok.

Rims have some chrome issues on the rear.. but front is good. I'll post up some pics or PM you.

The CB400 really could do with a better caliper.. I'm running David Silver repros, but my daily ride is a Ducati 959.. so its a re education from bike to bike lol.

Does anyone know if there is a drilled disc out there for the CB400?

Stock rims, Motad exhaust, chain guard, front disc cover .. more bits to follow possibly a seat in good condition.

Thanks Paul, yes I keep looking at the same diagram.. and I have the location on the down tube in the hole. Looking at the diagram should the spring locate on the left side (against the small arm for brake switch) or to the right side for the thicker arm that locates the brake are/rod)

I hope that makes sense.. I'm going to feel silly when I work it out , but with the swingarm on its very tight so I may need to drop the swingarm back out.

CB350/400 / Rear Brake Return Spring - CB400f
« on: October 04, 2017, 03:40:53 PM »

So I've come to re install the rear brake lever and spring.. I must admit I'm a bit stuck as to the location of the spring.. I'll try and get a photo later, I'm not sure if all Cb400F's locate the same but mine locates into a hole in the frame on the one end and the other clamps around the brake lever arm - its here where I'm lost.

It only seems to locate by nestling up to the back of the side of the arm for the brake light switch.. this location allows the brake some spring and it works but there is no tension at all.

I must be locating it wrong as I have no pre load on the spring.. any advice much appreciated as I'm trying to be careful with all the fresh paint.. thanks
