Project Board / Re: CB750K4 New project

Nice find ...That Asahi Denso filler cap is worth  a lot of money. The plastic lens always yellows but there is a clock glass on eBay that costs peanuts and fits perfectly bonded in with semi-flex ultra clear epoxy. Mine sold within 1 hour on Ebay for £100 to a guy in Japan.  I found  two dried up Idaho wasps  inside the crankcases of my '69 CB350.
Thanks for the info.... i knew it wasn't a std filler cap but didn't realise it was valuable... If it works ok I'll keep it, if not i may try to sell it. Hopefully there wont be any more wasps but im worried about the airbox and the headlamp bowl now  :o

I've always been a honda man myself.... although i like the RD 2 Strokes too... The NSR is way better looking than the C90 😄 . Ive known the original owner of the C90 since I was about 6 or 7. It belonged to his Dad who bought it brand new in 1983 but sadly suffered a heart attack and passed away before he got to use her. My mate then rode her for a couple of years before putting her in the garage where she stayed until I bought her about 4 years ago. He had removed the plastics to make her a little slimmer and had managed to lose the air filter cover and a couple of other parts. So i now have a pattern cover fitted since the photo. She only has 4k on the clock but the chrome is a little pitted.... but otherwise in great condition. My mates dad waxoyled the whole frame as soon as he bought her hence the lack of rot.

So here she is, my new winter project complete with strange trumpet style exhausts which sound quite good but will be getting replaced, big wide USA style bars, engine bars in decent nick may keep them, pattern seat looks brand new with metal base. In remarkable condition for her age 44! One or two bits missing / non std but not too much. Wont be doing a nut & bolt resto, just a clean up and repair, i like a bit of original patina and she will be a tidy rider like my other bikes, not a show winner.  Gonna keep me busy for a while i think.... Overall I'm quite happy 😊

Dodgy non standar rear shocks will be getting replaced

Rear mudguard and light assembly almost perfect

Couple of dents in front mudguard which i may be able to smooth out, chrome is sound

One or two marks in the paint...may go for a respray and change of colour ?

Hardly any wear on the front disk, no ridges....

Hornets nest under the rear light assembly,,, fortunately the occupants were long gone.

Thanks for the comments... yes the NSR is a great little machine, so compact and goes really well.... feels how I imagine a GP bike might feel, kind of harsh but handles beautifully.. Would be a real track tool in the right hands (not mine lol) the dry clutch rattle always gets people looking over to see what it is. 8)

Owned by me between about 1980 and 1987, sold to a lad who had just written off an LC350 and a reliant robin,,,, bought for him by his Dad, i wished him luck as they took it away.... These old fours were shit cheap in those days, i had fitted comstar wheels, twin disks, marshall 4 into1, marzochi adjustable shocks, it had a stove enammeled frame and looked pretty good... Sold for £350 if i remember correctly..... I'll dig out an old photo if i can... i reckon she will be dead by now 😔

This is my RD250F, restored by me, not a show winner but a regular rider.

Honda C90ZZ original and unrestored, no rust on the frame.... great fun, shown here at the famous Squires Cafe a couple of years ago.

NSR250SP MC21, not restored but full engine rebuild, done a couple of track days and plenty of rideouts, not a show winner or museum piece but great fun.

ZZR1100, workhorse and touring bike, trips to France and the IOM..

Hi all, new member signing in.  I've always wanted a CB750 and now I have a new beast in the garage to fettle and ride. Used to have a 550K4 back in the 80's but that was the only SOHC I ever had. Always preferred the looks of the 750 motor though, and the big round tank and sidepanels..... 8).

I'll be needing a few replacement parts so will be looking for advice on where to look... not too fussed about originality although the bike is pretty standard with just a few wrong parts as far as I can see.... a giuliari seat would be nice! and maybe a 4 into 1 exhaust...

Cheers Rob
