Other Bikes / 1983 Honda CB 1100F
« on: February 10, 2022, 11:21:13 PM »
Yesterday we bought an 83' CB 1100F from the original owner. It sounded to good to be true but it was true. The bike lived in the garage since new and was last on the road in 03'. The bike found us through our Rust Bros Garage Facebook page. He knew that we'll resurrect and ride it. We'll get started on it as soon as we finish up the Suzuki GS 1100E.

Other Bikes / 1980 Suzuki GS1100E

We recently started going through our last keeper bike. It's a 1980 Suzuki GS 1100E with 17k miles on it. It's pretty crusty so we're cleaning it up as best we can. We go through everything mechanical and clean up all of the wiring connections to make it ride like new. The carbs and exhaust system was unusable so we got a stainless Delkavic 4 into 1 exhaust system and a new set of Mikuni RS 36 flat slide carbs with accelerator pump. It's going to be a hotrod. 8)

The Black Bomber Board / 1970 Honda CB450 DOHC

We recently got a 1970 CB450 DOHC that is complete but rough. We are going to do all of the mechanical stuff and paint the frame. We aren't really set up to do paint on the bodywork so we will let the new owner take care of that. We just finished disassembly and it already has a new owner.

Other Bikes / 64' Norton Atlas 750

My latest project is repairing the bad work of two hacks that worked on my friend's 64' Norton Atlas 750 after it was stolen and recovered. It used to be a really nice bike, now I am going to get it back on the road.

Other Bikes / 84' Vf1000F Interceptor
« on: December 02, 2020, 05:25:14 AM »
Right now while we are waiting for a few things for the 550 we put the Interceptor 1000 up on the table for it's resurrection. We got it this summer for $1100. It has been sitting since 09' in a heated building. The bike only has 14k miles on it and it still feels like we stole it.;D

We have to do the usual stuff to put it back on the road like brakes, brake and clutch lines, carbs, tires, wheel bearings, new battery, straiten the brake and clutch levers, clean and lube the cables, fork oil change, clean and lube the shock linkage and steering bearings, chain and sprockets, oil change, valves and a seat cover. I'm really looking forward to riding this one. I had one of the first Honda V45 Sabre's in the country in May of 82'. I love the V4 powerband. The power comes on earlier than an inline 4 and keeps coming. The VF1000F is rated at 113hp, I think it is our most powerful bike. I only weigh 130lbs or 60 kilos I think so bikes go faster when I ride them. ;D

So far we have removed, rebuilt and replaced the carbs and today I pulled all three calipers off and apart. I also got the calipers all cleaned and ready to rebuild but still need the new slide collars. I think we will finish this bike in a month or two depending on getting the parts.

Project Board / CB550 K0 #449

I thought I would put up some picures of the 74' 550 build that I just finished. I've had it for 3 years but worked on other bikes for a year in the middle of the project. Here's some motor shots.

New Member Introductions / New guy from the USA
« on: November 25, 2020, 03:20:38 AM »
Hi, my name is Kelly. I live in the northwest corner of the US. I have been riding since street bikes 1980. My first bike was a 1980 CB650 that I had for 2 years and 38k miles. In 82' I traded it in on a new VF750S Sabre and put 140k miles on it in 9 years of ownership. My friend and I now have a collection of ten bikes that we share. Two of them are SOHC Honda's. A 75' 400/4 and a 74' 550 K0. Most of the bikes we resurrected and 8 out of 10 are currently roadworthy. All of our bikes are riders that we use and share with a few select friends. I live on 5 acres and have a 1400sqft shop where we do all of the work and store most of the bikes.
We are currently resurrecting our 84' VF1000F Interceptor with 16k miles on it which was stored indoors for 11 years before we bought it. The last bike left to do is the 1980 Suzuki GS1100EX. It will be a full tear down except the motor since it only has 16k on it. We have also done a couple of bikes for other people between doing our own bikes.
