The rear sets I made from the stock peg mounts and a set of 82' V45 Sabre foot peg mounts. I cut 150mm out of the middle of the back fender after I removed the mount. Then welded back to the mount with the taillight wiring tunnel intact. For the seat I modified the stock base so it still uses the hinge and seat lock. A shop did the foam and the seat cover. We went with Hagon shocks and installed needle bearings in the swingarm.

I thought I would put up some picures of the 74' 550 build that I just finished. I've had it for 3 years but worked on other bikes for a year in the middle of the project. Here's some motor shots.

Thanks for the welcome. ;D
I go on quite a few rides every summer and get some great pictures during the trip. Washington State has very diverse terrain. I can go from the first two pictures to the second two in 3 hours. And here's a shot of my travel bike.  It's a 94' Kawasaki ZG1000.

;D Was it that one?

That video proves it's really about rider skill and not just the bike or tires. I have surprised a lot of sportbike guys by chasing them down with the 84' Honda Sabre 700 with fairing and bags. 8)

Hi, my name is Kelly. I live in the northwest corner of the US. I have been riding since street bikes 1980. My first bike was a 1980 CB650 that I had for 2 years and 38k miles. In 82' I traded it in on a new VF750S Sabre and put 140k miles on it in 9 years of ownership. My friend and I now have a collection of ten bikes that we share. Two of them are SOHC Honda's. A 75' 400/4 and a 74' 550 K0. Most of the bikes we resurrected and 8 out of 10 are currently roadworthy. All of our bikes are riders that we use and share with a few select friends. I live on 5 acres and have a 1400sqft shop where we do all of the work and store most of the bikes.
We are currently resurrecting our 84' VF1000F Interceptor with 16k miles on it which was stored indoors for 11 years before we bought it. The last bike left to do is the 1980 Suzuki GS1100EX. It will be a full tear down except the motor since it only has 16k on it. We have also done a couple of bikes for other people between doing our own bikes.

Here's my rattle can paint job. Everything on the bike was painted with rattle cans. I used Duplicolor Aluminium engine paint and Seymore MRO black.

Welcome to the forum Kelly E.

Nice bike and modifications there,  the other two also look interesting,  plus all the space as we have much less to play with here  :)

Thanks, then I won't tell you about my 1400sqft shop on 5 acres. 8)
The other two are the 79'750F that we finished this summer and the 90' Moto Guzzi 1000 Le Mans.

I just finished building my 74' CB550 K0. I got it as a $500 roller with the motor on the floor and the top end in pieces. I wanted it to look more like a 70's build than current styles. I ain't riding on no ironing board. Most of the changes were for ride quality not style. In the front end I did tapered roller bearings in the steering head, Progressive springs and a Tarozzi fork brace. In the rear I did needle bearings in the swingarm and Hagon shocks. I also did the seat mods on the stock seat pan so it still uses the stock hinge and lock. I am still undecided about the exhaust. It came with the bike new in the box. Overall I am happy with the results.
