Hi this mite be like trying to find rocking horse sh*t but worth a go......
My father recently passed away and sure the last few weeks all he talked about was his beloved Honda Britten, I’ve even got the original receipt from when he brought it new.
I’ve checked the Reg *YDL 440T* and it’s sorn so still about. Dad seemed to think it was in Southampton in a garage in bits. I’d love to find the owner to ask if I could take a look at it or maybe take if for a spin 🙏🏻. It would be a dream come true if I could get it back in the family but even to see it would be great 🤞🏻. And help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks Joe

Welcome and good luck searching. There are a few Honda Britain owners on here, and I'm sure one of them mentioning an online group/register for them. Hopefully one of them will read this and be able to give you links to the site. You may even find the current owner is registered there, so it may point you in the right direction.

Welcome Joe... Good luck with your search.

Welcome to the forum and hope that someone may have knowledge of the bike, it's pretty good if you can find a connection like that.
Amusing though that you're still in contact with the racist that sold it to him! "I’ve even got the original racist from when he brought it new." ;D
That drives me nuts, the spell correction on my tablet. And often some weird stuff comes out if i don't edit well enough.

Welcome to the forum Joe and I hope you are able to locate and see the bike. They were pretty rare and I'm sure someone will know something about it.

You need to talk to Whiteylfc http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=12990
He's the Honda Britain / Seeley / PRR guru

Hi Joe....i run the Honda Britain Owners Club and have the only database of all the known and surviving Honda Britain's and Phil Read Replicas..That particular Honda Britain was not known to the club so I do not know who currently owns the bike.It hasn't been taxed since 1996 so it may well be in a shed in bits.Does the receipt you have include the frame and engine numbers of the bike?
Good luck with your search.

I have found that the DVLA site shows vehicles that must have been scrapped decades ago (based on my own previous vehicle ownership) or broken for spares so if the VRM is still showing details it might be as no one sent in the V5/3C or it was done before the ATF scheme & SORN system came into being. I have checked loads of my old vehicles that still show on the DVLA Mot history page that most definetly no longer exist.

So is it the one actual one you have in bits ?
Great bit of tracking via social media if it is.

YDL440T has been in the shed for around 10yrs she does start sounds fantastic, in v.g.c all original, we bought her from a dealer Charlie in Oxford, went in the back of a Ford Galaxy home to Wales.

Great result! Can you post some piccies for us all to see?

Brilliant result! Photos of then and now would be great too.
I do wish my old gold K1 (JML 60K) would turn up but I've been told it was written off in 1989....:(

Still can't believe this!! I was on a stag do in Newquay and was a little intoxicated when first read it so woke up thinking it was a dream!! can't wait to see some photos and if Ann allows ill be coming up to see it run.
