It's not always what you've got, it's the way that you wear it!   ;D

Can't believe it's 13 degrees.......in November.....in Scotland!

Lovely run along the River Nith to Caerlaverock Castle this morning, probably my last outing this year.

CB500/550 / Black Hole in Reverse
« on: October 27, 2020, 03:24:12 PM »

1976 CB550f1

Ok so I finally managed to separate the cylinder head from the welded on gasket and got it onto the bench.
After a few twists and turns and summersaults checking the fins, valves and the inch thick grot I noticed these 2 rubber grommets/pucks sitting on the bench. I do have a black hole in my mancave that eats dropped nuts bolts and washers but so far i've never had anything returned from the parallel universe.

Can any of you fine people on here offer any suggestions as to where they came from so i can return them to their rightful home before i put the cylinder head back on.
Thanks

Kenny

Nice ride out today. I haven't done many miles this year so it was back to my favourite run along the River Nith to Glencaple. Criffel in the background

Gently push a very, very fine piece of wire down the return hole. Don't make the hole any bigger than it is, as the system won't work properly.
Are we talking a guitar E string thickness or something finer Julie?

It wont is the easy answer, i find well over 95% of the masters need to be bled the way i said, also forgot to mention make sure both the holes from reservoir to bore are clear one is tiny

Any hints or tips on unblocking the tiny hole in the reservoir?
