Morning
Before I balance the carbs ... a question about connecting an auxillary fuel tank.
The 500 has two fuel pipes whereas the 550 had one .. do i need to feed fuel to both pipes using some sort of Y connector ?
Yes I know - basic question :)
Thanks

Yes, I use a Y piece. The 550 has a Y piece down stream of the tap

Bearing in mind the flamability of petrol does anyone make a safe auxilliary fuel tank at a sensible price?
Any links or tipe welcome - something like this?

I use the 20.99 one featured at the bottom of the page.

I've used a couple of Sealey MS209's for years, and they're a decent bit of kit. Nice thing with this is you can extend the supply pipe slightly and hang the tank higher give the carbs a bit more 'static head' - good for making sure the float needles are definitely seated and not leaking...

I gather then James you use 2 reservoirs to feed the twin pipes instead of using a Y splitter?
-
Why not strap the tank to the buddyseat and use extension tubes? You have to remove the tank anyway.

Knowing my luck I'd drop it !!!
Cheers everyone .... plan sorted so will hopefully get on it at the weekend
Thanks

For longer than I care to remember I've just stuck a plastic medical syringe of about 150ml into the existing feed pipes/s held vertical by stiff wire to nearest frame point.
Fill with fuel and that's enough to run for easily enough setup time.

Lol - I lost one for a while, bought a replacement, then found the orginal.
