As the 750 k0 is now all sorted i thought it was time to start another one.
This may seem a bit sad to some but i do have a habit of living in the past.
Back in 1972 i had a CB175 new ,the first bike i had ( forgetting the li125 lambretta i had before that).
A bike i always loved i had if for only a year and sold it to my twin brother who eventually sold it on to some mate of his
who kept falling off of it and eventually he sold it to his window cleaner (I found that out a couple of years ago )'
Talking to a customer three or so years ago he did the DVLa check and there it was ,on the road somewhere
After loads of attempts to track it down i have given up but in the process i bought last year the bike in the photos here .
My bike was DKL54K and as you can see this id DKL69K it came out of the same dealer the same day as mine back in 72 so
the plan is to restore this one.
I will then have something smaller to ride when the years catch me up.
Menno has done the paint for me. Frame is now in primer and a lot better condition than i thought it would be.
I have a brand new crank and 2 doner bikes for replacing any rough parts.
The engine is stripped and apart from a broken starter motor mounting screw no major problems.
Dissembled mudguards for chrome stripping prior to dent removal and re polishing ,chroming and then rivet back together again.
Thats enough rambling ,i'll update as things happen

Good luck with the project Rich. I'm sure it will be lovely when you have worked your magic on it.
And, nothing wrong with living in the past as long as you keep one eye looking towards the future.

Great to meet you and Mick last week Rich. If I know you, the 175K6 will be spot on. Don't forget my offer to US clean your carbs for you.
Just got the message that my exhausts I bought for mine in Japan will be coming over in someone's luggage at Christmas ... more shiney parts to hoard :) (well they are used so possibly not so shiney but rocking horse poo to get NOS). Leaving mine (K5) as I got it from James. Just need to build the engine back up as the kickstart gear had stripped which meant a stripdown. I still hanker after getting my CB250K2 back HDT 2J that I had when I was 18.. it's on DVLA as .'not taxed for road use'. Thing is if I could just get it's frame back, I have enough shiney parts/engine parts to totally rebuild it, more or less.

I regret selling my CB175, still have the CD175 I passed my test on 35 years ago. Talking of hoarding I have some CD175 NOS exhausts in my loft somewhere.

Unbeknown to that little Honda and judging by your 750 build Rich, it's just won the lottery of it's life in terms of where it could have ended up.
It'll be good seeing it progress.
