Ah, I get it, pick on Julie day is it 🙄🙄🙄 Yes Ken, for contact Dermatitis I would suggest a good rub down with wet and dry to remove the corrosion and apply copious amounts of oil, I suggest Mineral, don't forget to wear gloves though 😀😀

Steady on chaps, nothing wrong with oily rag wipedowns, its much under estimated, on the appropriate parts. You could try the tyres and discs.......let me know how you get on 😀😀😀

Sister Julie....Matron if you please 😀😀😀😀 Personally I don't see the point in WD40, unless your engine is bare alloy, which I doubt it is, then a silicone spray may help but not on Honda painted engines. I'm a bucket and sponge girl myself, nice hot soapy water does the job a treat. I do like an oily rag to wipe over the frame / black bits etc, it doesn't really achieve anything on powder coated frames but it was a regular thing on my old Brit bikes, so I still do it.

Just add the slightest smear of red rubber grease to hold it in place. Still easy to crimp though !!!

Not the first part used with a number ending in 004
I think the K2 still used the -004 part Graham but question is did the manufacturer change the design?
Any metallurgy gurus out there?
I thing Trig is in the workshop Ash, rummaging around in crates trying to find the one that came out of his K0, he may be some time !!!

Is a magneto the same as a starter motor Jason? Probably not but if it is we have a great guy refurb / overhaul our SOHC starter motors for us.

Or a veggie steamer saucepan thingy, just chuck everything in the basket, put lid on and let it steam away. I picked up a double layered one in the charity shop for £8.00....worth every penny and more.

Yep, the shocks on the bike are clearly not designed for the job! They're 315mm eye to eye so god knows what they do fit but I'm busy looking at replacements now. Thinking either DS or Hagon are the only sensible options really.
I had Hagons fitted to my CB400/4 when I got her, they were a pain in the arse, literally, a harder back end I have never known and she skipped and jumped all over the place. I use TEC shocks on all the bikes....lovely

Indeed they do. These are TEC shocks but you get the drift, even by my strange sideways photo [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Thanks Roy , I’ve just ordered a set from Gerben , wish i had seen your post earlier . Can you recommend anyone local to set up and balance carbs .
The carbs from Garben will already be set.
They'll still need balancing
Not necessarily Peter but i'm sure we all do it these days just for something else to do. If you think what happened with the carbs from the factory, they were bench synced by Keihin, who put the little yellow spots of paint on, fitted to the bikes by Honda, not checked or adjusted on PDI and off the customer went. A good bench sync will get the carbs very close to perfect, to allow the bike to start and run with no problems. I think these days it's because we all take our own carbs apart to clean them, fit new 'O' rings etc, that they need balancing again afterwards. If we left them alone in the first place, to factory settings, they wouldn't need re balancing.........
