Julie, not sure if you mean me but my 750 is a K2 with the f*@k off massive rear light so no help here.
Here's Mick's rear light which I believe is a K1 but unsure if it's an import or UK model, sorry.

Yes, I was referring to yourself Peter. I thought you had a USA K1 🤔🤔🤔 In that case yes, your rear light is as big as barn door but also, that means you have the incorrect side panel badges fitted 😱😱😱😱 I would see it as a rare manufacturing balls up 😁😁😁

Isn't that The England light and not the one fit on USA models.
Do you know something Moorey, I'm not sure. But, I am sure I have seen the more rounded type on USA bikes. We need Peter and Mick, who both have USA K1's to let us know what they have fitted and then find someone with a UK K1 to see what's on theirs. The only person I know with a UK K1 is Paul Gledhill but I'm not sure if he had a rear light in all the boxes of bits he got with his restoration project. A UK K1 is a very, very rare bike, so there's not many around to compare with.

But, you also see gold with gold, I think it was whatever the person who fitted them at the factory laid his hands on first. I have seen photos of new CB750's with both colours fitted.

Its just packaging, when you take it out can you send it to me as mine is missing ONLY JOKING....leave it in, it's a moisture trap.
Which end should it be in? (feeling nervous asking that of a nurse!) Is it an alternative to the trap at the bottom end?
Trust me, I'm a Nurse, I would never advocate sticking something in the wrong end 😀😀 If I remember correctly, originally the tube fitted to the bottom of the air box had an end with a slash cut when the bike was serviced, the end of the tube was squeezed which let out any moisture that had built up. These days, I don't think the slash tube style tube is available any more so as an alternative they supply a pipe that was fitted to the bottom of the expansion box as an alternative, which has foam inside the wider part at the top. But,you have to take it off to squeeze the foam, so a bit difficult really.
So a push fit plastic plug which can be removed to let moisture out instead would be ok?
No reason why not, its not as if by plugging the hole, pressure is going to build up or anything like that. I suppose in reality, it wouldn't matter at all if nothing was fitted, it is only a drain at the end of the day. I suppose the foam originally stopped road dirt going up the tube.

That's DVLA for you, they do make mistakes especially on age related reg numbers for imported bikes. They gave him a 'G' reg on an early die cast once, wrong again !!!

Could it be a case of No 1 cylinder is running at the correct temperature and 2,3 and 4 are running very hot?
