Nice leaflet Julie...Thanks for sharing The 500K0 wasn't sold here so must be a very early UK 500K0 with no side panel emblems fitted.

Amazing blast from the past and a reminder of just how much things have changed. Such a simple photo from back when life was a much simpler place.

lovely leaflet, i might print and pin up in the garage!

I would guess that promo shots would take a while to process, copy needs writing, layouts completing and leaflets need to be ready ahead of sale - so I wonder if they got hold of a pre-production bike or whatever was handy for the shot before the 'real deal' arrived.

As oddjob says you can see what looks to be 500 Four on the side panel.

The image could been "comped " together in printing layout.  Have a look at the detail on the 175 around the rear mudflap and light assembly,  they've drawn in edges contrast to define it from the grass background.

Also look at the bottom arc of the 175 rear tire and the corresponding area of the 250 front,  both have been painted in with black to raise the detail appearance. Not criticism,  just what happened before photoshop type correction. Would have been completed by the layout artist.

Interesting historical image of the models, good find Julie.

I think Oddjob is correct ..if you blow up the image you can just make out a 500 badge.

Any newbies here may not have seen this thread from a couple of years ago.

OMG....that reminds me...somewhere in the loft I still have the full 1978( I think ) honda range poster .....with the CBX1000 on the front.

Dad was trying to get back into bikes, and wandering the local dealers trying to understand disc brakes, overhead cams, and things that weren't Triumphs...and I saw a CBX1000 .... That's the kind of thing that affects a 10 year old and pretty much ensured I was going to be a biker. I had to be dragged away, but got the brochures and poster before I left.

Was an interesting time. Dad managed to avoid buying an XS250 ( the dealer had a room full he couldn't shift at big discounts ) and ended up with a 3TA .... painted metallic green. It's since been restored and he still has it.

Great leaflet - good memories for me. I went for a CB175 in 71 as my first road bike and they had none in stock so bought a 250k3 (K4 in brochure) and kept that for a year before buying a CB500 in 72 - and have now got a 750k2! So all the bikes in the brochure have a relevance to me
