I'd buy the lot myself but have no space for storage or way to pick it up.

Not too far from me and a decent selection of carbs. Pretty sure I could get a complete bike out of that with my own spares as a backup. Better still, easily fit in my berlingo, might have to leave the kids behind or take a trailer. Lovely castle there and not been for ages. Tempting.

If you do I'm after a caliper and a caliper arm for a dual disc setup. finders fee? ;D

Carefull there i sent the seller a massage as the frame number and complete engine are 650 not 550
-
a mix of 550/650 bits would be good for a special or for spares if the price was right, will be interesting to see what it goes for
-
650 motor would fly streight into my sidecar cb500/4 in all likelihood if I went for it. I have plenty of cb550 mills to bung in that frame.

He's updated the listing to show it's a CB650 engine. Probably a genuine mistake/posting given that the number starts 550 & as he says, 'it was left in my dad's garage'. I wish people left stuff like that in my dad's garage...
-
Ah, that's slightly worrying, but at least he has some paperwork as things left in someone else's barn, can be the cause of an almighty ruckus and the leaver deciding to allege their goods are stolen when the garage owner finally sells the dumped stuff. Happened in a nearby village, random neighbous had the police over investigating allegations they had stolen shovels. It was fairly ludicrous, but it is an auction, the buyer could find they are traced and made to hand the stuff back and have to chase the seller for money back. I think I would want a bit of assurance of title.

I hadn't thought of that.
When I was about 9 our house was rented out..when we finally returned it was in a right state and the shed had been used for..(cue righteous indignation from my dad) ... a workshop!
The lodger left a 'bike there for ages and my dad kept chasing them to move it. I knew nothing about 'bikes but kept praying they wouldn't come for it so I could have it. Sadly it wasn't to be and it went away, just leaving a scattering of fibreglass.
My memory is some sort of G S from the shape of the tank.I wonder if I would have worked out how to fix it?!

Hi guys,
I bought this bike and the spares that came with it. Have only just picked it up today, so have not yet had a chance to go through any of it. There appears to be a 550 engine in bits, in addition to the 650 one, plus lots of carb bits and other engine spares. This is presumably the engine that was in the Q plate bike, but I have not checked the engine number yet. I have no use for the 550 engine, as I already have one, and plan to use the 650 engine for my next cafe racer project, so if anyone is looking for any 550 engine or carb parts, let me know.

I'm glad you managed to buy it! I'm sure you would have found it on your own accord anyway but it's good a forum member get it anyway. I'm early on in my 550 build so not sure what I need yet but I may message you as it progresses.

Hi Raymond...
I've just sent a message over about some parts you may have...
Cheers
