Title: Has anyone ever seen a tank like this before?
Post by: Menno on February 19, 2019, 11:32:17 PM
Someone posted these pictures on a FB group asking what kind of thank this is.

I haven't seen one like this before and I see a lot of cb tanks.
So... :

Cool shades though.

I found an advertising brochure for the CB750 K1 plod bike version, is that the same tank?

Hard to make out the fuel capacity there, but it actually looks smaller, I think the road bike was 5 US gallons.

When I had my early CB750 as a callow youth I realised there were two bikes chasing after me late one night through Lancaster, and wound the throttle open a bit. I lost one of them but one kept up. Turns out they were Norton Commando Interpols. :( The result was a load of points and a hefty fine, It turned out that I knew the bike cop via the club I was in, and he down played my actual speed on the report so I didn't get banned. He couldn't let me off though, he explained as his mate, who turned up eventually (either not that good a rider or his Norton broke down), would want to know why.

May of come from a later police unit, when they changed the fuel tap from right to left  ::)

Menno I’m fairly sure the CB750 P0 and P2 just used a standard Honda tank..

Hi Menno, sorry for the late answer, this tank comes from a CB250G made for French army during the 70's, more than 2500 bikes sold ! They had a CB750 tank for better autonomy.
