Roo has a couple for sale or will have soon. I've just sent him some stainless steel mesh to replace the mesh on the filter cover, as soon as he's finished restoring them he said he'd sell a couple. Maybe give him a PM and see?
As for the duct, AFAIK it was only used on the carbs with the 78 main jets, almost impossible to find these days. If you have normal 623B carbs on the 500 or 069A on the 550 you're better off with just the mesh.

You can also use the later style 8mm headed bolts that Honda are still using on their engines today. Don't use allen key bolts as the hole for the allen key fills with water and rusts the bolt. Some 6mm stainless bolts now come 8mm headed, like ProBolt for instance. Expensive though but have a look around.

Up ducer opposite of a Re ducer. In other words, 1/4" to 3/8. With male 1/4" and female 3/8".

Also remember the bolt allen keyed bolt, do that whilst they are locked into the yokes, then pinch back up again.

The black is always painted on and the decal is the separator between the main colour and the black panel sorry to say Dave. Some people have the stripe painted on rather than use a decal. If it's a decal there is a small bump where it's attached, if it's painted it's generally flat. Either is ok with me but given the choice I'd go for painted lines.
Your pic looks like the later 550K tank rather than the 500K, different type of fuel tap.

Yep, £1160 for a replacement fuel tank for a CB1300SA. Luckily Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. paid for it.
I've got 2 spare tanks off that bike.

If you look carefully you can see a ring around the shaft, that looks to be where it was sat originally. There is a small o-ring between the bearing and the collar, don't forget that.
Or ask someone to measure the distance it's sat from the end of the shaft.

Plastic base Ted, they fit but they tend to rock back and too when fitted.
I have a NOS one but not sure if that's for sale until I have my special one made to replace it.
Best bet is to find a decent metal base and buy a new foam and then recover it with a decent cover.
