Hard to believe it rust again after flushing with diesel and oil! Do you store it in dry area?

Coming back to this topic - is there reliable way how to ensure issue comes from bent/work shifting fork or other issue that will force me to split cases?
I want to go maximum avoiding that.

Just thinking, maybe inspection camera?

I use LED too in my K7 750. Much brighter light especially for turn signals

Easy to get the bolts out, it is called a strong magnet. Only use steel short thread bolts and you will find that the threads pick up all the crap  ;) ;)

Trig, please what do you mean by "short thread bolts"? Can you be more specific - hear type, thread length...
I cannot really imagine shaking - in hand it will be crazy. Putting in conctete mixer too risky was thinking about washmashine but on modern ones you cannot force drum on low speed ..
My 550 has liner inside and starts to degrade strongly

I just realised that I never introduced myself here on the forum (joined 1 year ago) - I appologize for that ::). I think now it is too late
So at least here are 2 pics showing my 550. Someone maybe recognize her, it comes from one well known forum member here ;)

Make sure you order new clips as well, apparently the new OEM ones are slightly thinner rubber, and the original clips don't quite do up tight enough!

Really??? I just put new OEM ones and i did not observe it. Old clips fits well.
but did not measure old and new rubber, will check next time

Hi Dave
have a look inside shop manual (Aladdin's Cave), page 143 or page 167. Maybe not exactly your model, but you should find answer there

Clutch cable is new (OEM), operates perfect as far I can say (compare to any other Honda I know).

Sure! Opening engine is the LAST action.
It is pity that gearbox cannot be replaced w/o opening cases like on nowadays bikes

I was afraid of this feedback... Opening engine was something I wanted to avoid

You are (trying to) ride it like a Harley.
Quote
You can imagine it is very annoying when starting from traffic lights, you want to be fast, but then 1-neutral-2...shame ::)
If you want to be fast, why are you shifting before 3-4 k rpm? How fast are you going in first gear with those revs? 15 mph?

does not make sense to deeply discuss it, it is depedning on situation, style, mood...simply why not? Shifting in low RPMs was never a problem for any other bike I had or I have, except this one.
So that's why I'm asking if it is normal or not.
