There have been a lots of posts on disc pads.
Has anyone found which give the best stopping power, and how many miles to bed in the DSS ones? Many thanks 350

Many thanks. 351

No I don’t think so. When I blow into the fuel pipes there seems to be a bit more resistance on the right pair but the fuel seems to flow out of the bowl same as the left side. Just given the right jets a clean and will road test.

Hi (cb500/4 K1)
Cyls 3&4 don’t seem to be running properly. I’ve noticed when the choke lever is down, the choke connection between 3&4 can be pushed down a bit more. Does that seem normal? All comments appreciated. 353

My breather tube is missing, does it run down to the same place as the carb overflow tubes?
Thanks in advance for any info 355

I can get the bowls off in situ using a torx right angle handle with a long screwdriver tip in it.
Used carb cleaning kits off eBay. One is little brushes and the other is tiny abrasive wires. 356

CB500/550 / CB500/4 choke lever turns on its own« on: March 09, 2019, 04:47:56 PM »
Hi any ideas why the choke would turn on its own from off (down) to on (up) while riding?
Cylinder 4 is running colder than the others which I need to adjust but could this be anything to do with it? Any similar experiences much appreciated. Regards J 358

I used the DS ones on my 500/4 K1. They are slightly longer than original, but I couldn't really find the orignal length ones anywhere.
I reused my old caliper thinking it was OK, but a waste of time. A small amount of corrosion, barely visible in the bottom of the groove for the seal meant a new caliper (piston side only) needed. Ditto the master cylinder. The only orignal parts remaining are the brake switch part and the static side of the caliper, .....and the bolts! 359

Many thanks all. Good advice.
Looks like it even has petrol residue on from past oozing from above. Replaced totally knackered float bowl gaskets with shaped USA ones. Also replaced pet cock rings and found cycle bearing Ptfe grease was very effective on the petcock Sprung washer for smooth operation, so far. Thanks again. 360

Hi
I think my sump gasket is leaking slightly. I’ve found a post but not clear if the cover will come off with the original 4 pipe system in place? Also once it’s off will the strainer just fall out and Therefore need holding up when reassembled? (In the Haynes it’s done upside down!) Looks like the strainer has an o ring worth replacing while at it? Many thanks |
