Hi, is anyone aware of likely gatherings to celebrate 50 years in 2021 or thereabouts?

If not already see if it’s routed above the left tank mounting lug.
When I altered mine to that route it seemed to help, and I think my old one was back in the 1970s.

Many thanks. I have ordered 360 x 19 and 410 x 18 TT100s from vintagetyres.com who were very helpful, and do a slight discount for a pair on ebay.
As I hoped, the modern TT100 has a more rounded profile than back in the '70s.

Hi I'm looking at exactly the same issue. I see in the handbook it says 3.50 x 18 and 3.25 x 19.
I think back in the '70's I fitted 4.10 x 18 on the back, mainly for looks I suspect (!) and the handling was fine.
I used TT100s, Avon Roadrunner, and finally the best were a Michelin PZ2 front and M45 rear, but sadly they don't seem to do those anymore.
The bike currently has modern tyres that look too big and don't seem to help the handling for low speed manoeuvring.

I'm looking to fit Dunlops and wondering if the current K81 TT100 has a softer profile than the 1970's 'originals', therefore enabling a K81 4.10 x 18 on the back to complement a K82 3.25 x 19 (which does seem a flatter profile) on the front? Having said that, they don't seem to do a 3.25 x 19 !?

I've seen these on DS for £90 posted. Does anyone have or know of any for sale?

CB500/550 / Correct 500/4 seat cover (1972)
« on: September 22, 2015, 03:10:20 PM »
Hi all. Does anyone know if covers are still available from a Mr Morretti from Stroud/Gloucester area?
I made contact a while ago and he had a batch of covers with a particular pattern, but on phoning now I can't get through. Or any other source of the correct pattern welcome!
Regards

What is it? / Re: 100mph speedo mystery

PS I now have enough info on this thanks.
It is certainly CJ250 as I have seen several identical on EBay, both in mph and kph. It was also used probably for the CB250G and will also suit the CB350F and 400F, although it's 100 top end would be a bit light for these last two.
Have a great Christmas.

I don't think you're far off! I'm thinking maybe a 125. Even the 175s seem to go to 110!

Hi. When I bought my Cb500/4 it had a 350/4 tacho fitted and this mystery speedo. Can anyone help me work out what it's for? It's in vgc and it would help me to advertise it correctly.

Many thanks for your time AshD.
The instruments are 350/4 so I guess these and the yoke may have been a cheap fix after a front end ding, maybe using a 400 yoke.
Either way I think it would be nice to have the normal 1 key setup, and I've got a full lock/ign set coming, then can maybe sell the '400 style' keyless yoke, and the lock from my new old yoke complete with the key I am getting to remove it. (Shame to drill it)
Also have 350/4 tacho and speedo to sell on, plus a spare 500/4 speedo with jammed odometer(looks ok though) plus a spare tacho. (Having bought correct NOS ones as a treat!)
Many thanks for the info, as at least I can offer the yoke to be of use to someone to preserve another classic.
I like the 380 reference. 35 years ago 2 of us had 500's and one had the 380 he though was quicker until a classic moment on Young Street near Box Hill. We still laugh about it!!
