I quite like looking at before and after pics, so thought I would add some for my humble C90.
It was everyday transport fot a neighbour of a friend, then sat outside for 25 years :o

People may laugh or sneer at the humble chicken chaser/ clunker /cruncher, call them what you will, but Honda's empire was built with the profits from the sale of many millions of them. Ultra reliable, they survive much abuse and neglect, and give incredible mpg. I have one I use to take my daughter to school and back everyday, 12 and a bit miles each way, so 250 miles a week, about £12.00 a week in petrol, absolute bargain, and does the journey in half the time of a car through the rush hour traffic in Exeter

The only downside being genuine parts are as dear as for a 750, albeit only 1 cylinder!

Dead right Hairygit but there were times as a mechanic we had a quote of oh my god its that time of year garden shed wonders will appear and they did from spring to summer.All the work was a service free up stuff and get them motd but loved it.

Stunning , your obviously a talented restorer martin
I have owned loads of these chicken chasers in my time, 50 /70 / and 90cc, we used to put the 70 head and barrel on the ss50 to make it more bearable to ride

Thanks, trouble is I generally spend more than they are worth :-[
But quite like the chase of finding parts and satisfaction in bringing back to life.
The way I look at it is, if these bikes can survive the period when they are worth very little without being broken for spares and get a full restoration , barring accident or fire they will probably outlast me :o

Got my vote there b4 the 750 I had a yellow c70 loved it to bits would have one again if I could find one.Amazing at the time passed my test on it and went staraight out and bought a 750 k2 not possible today is it?

One good thing I've found with chicken chasers, there are some chinese clones out now, and many parts are EXACT copies of original Honda parts, at a fraction of the cost. Riders of Yeovil have a large stock of spares for the chinese cubs they imported, brand new swinging arm inc bushes for around 35 quid, new bare forks for around 30, and today I bought a new seat for my 90 for £25.08, including the hinge, couldn't find a cover for my original seat for that money!:))

Fair play, those are some dramatic transformations. I tend to start off at the same point but never go to that length. I stop at mot'able and rarely buy much more than new consumables and tatty parts rejected from other restoration projects.

Did you have to replace the front forks due to the rust as they seem to be a slightly different colour blue to the rest.
The front forks and swinging arm were replaced.
Frame and forks powder coated in lighter blue than original.

Ah, if we are talking before and after pictures I have a whole video if anyone is interested.
It was my FZR1000 RU that I bought for £500 and made into a custom thingy (including a VMax tank cover for a tail unit).
