CB350/400 / Re: CB400F overall length

Take the front wheel off and itll probably fit or hire a trailer if you have a towbar
No towbar so trailer out. I would like to think it'll fit with the front wheel out but without a bike to look at and measure it's a tough call. I'm looking at one 120 miles away so a long way to go for a wasted trip it it don't fit :-[

Thanks for the input guys. Peter

CB350/400 / Unleaded Fuel
« on: May 23, 2016, 07:46:09 PM »
I've been wondering, will 70's SOHC engines run on unleaded fuel straight out of the box or do you require an engine with hardened valve seats or add lead?

My only experience is with a 2 stroke so no valves ;D and my old car has the hardened seats.

Thanks, Peter

Can someone with the knowledge or a 400 tell me the overall length of the bike as I'm trying to work out if one will fit in my van.
Can only find wheelbase stats elsewhere.

Thanks, Peter

Hello people, I've joined your forum as I've always wanted a 400 four and aim to get one in the near future.

Like many others, I've returned to motorcycling after many years absent. I owned some little 2 strokes in my callow youth and had some little pocket rocket 400cc race reps before leaving that all behind some years ago.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a 2 stroke 1982 Yamaha RD200 some 16 years ago which sat dormant until last year which I've recently finished restoring.

I also own and have restored a 1928 Ford Model A Tudor sedan.

Anyway I'm itching for another bike project and decided now is the time to source a 400F.

Looking forward to owning a Honda soon and know here will be a valuable source of knowledge to tap into.

Peter
