We had a look around their shop when I stayed in Malton last summer .. sadly it wasn't an auction day. Too I'm - there are a some fab ice-cream shops along the road in the centre of the village. And not too far to Scarborough for fish and chips!
-
Wendy & I are planning a trip this summer with an overnight stay nearby.
-
Better to go to Whitby for Fish and chips, a better run too.

If it's a 75 registration it must have taken a while to sell when new, or it's been restored to look like an older bike.

I think it is a 1975 UK K2 that someone has messed with. What's that strange bar thing on the front, it looks like it should have a wicker basket in it for putting shopping in 😁😁😁😁

Of course yes, I had forgotten the UK didn't get the K3 to K5 models. It would look way nicer if he simply took the daft number plate off and fitted a standard one. Not sure about the basket holder, maybe it was owned by Mary Poppins.

Can we get back to the fish and chips. Is the Magpie still the place to go?
-
How did you manage to get a 750 for sale at auction round to fish and chips? Amazing.
-
See#2 and #3.
-
I would choose Whitby for fish and chips. Magic every time, and taste far better than mouldy old 750's for sale at dusty auctions. ;D

TBH, as charming as Mathewson the programmes popularity has created a nightmare for residents in terms of traffic, noise and parking. We viewed a house there last year and whilst the village/town is charming, the visitor footfall creates more problems than benefits…..just my humble opinion. Yes it’s good for business, but this doesn’t necessarily translate to good news for residents….we didn’t make an offer for the house.
I’ll be interested to know if anybody on this forum buys that bike.

Yes if you can be bothered to Que :o go early or late not 12 or 5pm

Cheers, Paul. I’m going on Wednesday to fill up.

Worth searching 'best fish and chips in Whitby' as there are a lot of options with shorter queues. We went to one a few years ago that had won the Mail (or Dail y Mirrors) ' best in Yorkshire. Over the swing bridge heading South, follow the road round the corner and it was there in the left-hand side, nearly opposite a car park. Can't recall the name but it was fab!

This one is also very good we go in here if there is a Que at the Magpies only 50 yards away

Before Covid struck, we were in Whitby for the day and I won't que for nowt, but walking past the Magpie at dinner time we noticed no one stood outside, so we shot in to see what all the fuss was about, it's fair to say I'm glad I didn't que because I wasn't impressed, it was nothing special and thought I'd had better at Cleethorpes.
