Have just removed generator cover, and found the problem, the clamp that holds the wires, has worn through and caused meltdown, when i removed the clamp the three yellow wires just fell out,so on the hunt now for some more windings then should be back in buisness, yipee.

Have been trying to sort out my charging problem, rectifier and regulator have checked out ok,have done a continuity test on the generator,i seem to have continuity between one of the three yellow wires to ground, which acording to the workshop manual indicates a fault,so i may have found the fault. yoshi i accidently erased your e.mail adress, you said you might possibly have some windings, perhaps you could let me know. Thanks Dave.

hi can anybody give me some advice,i have a charging problem with my cb750 k6,with the lights on battery goes flat after about twenty mles, dont know if this the correct thing to do but i connected a voltmeter to the battery and it reads 12.4 volts without the lights on and down to 11.5 with them on,have tried adjusting the regulator,no difference, adjusted the points and core gap, still no change, could a rectifier be at fault,or have i got to go down the new generator route, not being an a electrical buff any help would be appreciated,it is really hard to find any secondhand parts, just mention i have just fitted a new battery. thanks Dave.

HI ALL Just fitted another set of carbs to the k6 they look very clean inside,i have a flat spot from take off from standstill, any ideas, the main jets are 115s so are going to change to the standard 120s, can you sync the throttle slides on the bench,or do they have to be done with guages. Dave.

Hi Den Thanks for the reply, had the carbs apart last night, one of the float settings was miles out,and the overflow pipe in the float bowl was blocked solid,so i would imagine it was filling up and spilling into the filter, and i suppose into the engine,i turn the fuel off when not using the bike, exept when out on a run,it has a new tap fitted. thanks Dave.

hi all a couple of questions regarding my cb750 k6,the engine was rebuilt by the previous owner about 1,500 miles ago,so gave it an oil and filter change yesterday,i also removed the sump,on the oil pump filter there was a strange fibre subtance, almost like wool, also on the sump pan there were small black bits,i cant realy believe that they could be from the tensioners as i hope they were replaced,i could view the primary chain tensioner and it looked new,i also noticed that the return oil pipe has a kink in it,i have heard that they can break up internally, could this be the cause of the black bits, one final point i seem to have fuel coming out of the air box, could the float need adjusting, and could the overflow pipe on the carbs be blocked, the engine runs as sweet as a nut with no untoward rattles apart from the usual clutch, should i be worried about the stuff in the sump,as i dont fancy an engine strip, sorry for such a lot of questions.any advice and help would be appreciated. am lookig out for a pair of oil pipes, new ones dont seem to be available any more. thanks Dave.
