Title: Head bolts
Post by: bomber on November 01, 2015, 11:02:31 PM
Slowly, finishing my bike and realized that few bolts are missing or are wrong lengths or are in pretty sorry state.
Can same one recommend supplier of bolts and copper washers.
I'm not particularly bothered if its original type of bolt or allen but I like to have them proper lengths and my local metal store doesn't have them, they either bit short or bit too long.

I'm thinking of getting a kit of ebay, but is it going to save me few quid getting them separately?

Many thanks

Careful with generic copper washers as they are frequently too thin, sometimes better to use a "Dowty" washer (alloy washer with rubber seal on ID)

Have used this set before and I think MrT has just fitted a set to his engine >>  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB550-CB-550-F-Series-Engine-Covers-Bolts-Set-Stainless-Steel-/262113359278?hash=item3d072c75ae

For stainless I have used this place several times in the past: http://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/
You can pick and choose just what you want.
