99% sure that would be the S1000RR HP4,

the road version of the WSBK racer that Chaz and Marco used,

it does have multi level traction control,
but as for leaning it over in the wet,if you have the bottomless pockets,or the skill of Casey Stoner,
your probably able to exploit it,

mere mortals should just admire in awe !!!!

not advisable to try on public roads !!!!

to many solid objects !!!

CB500/550 / standard Exhausts.
« on: January 21, 2014, 10:22:05 PM »
I have the 4 by 4 exhausts,

regular riding keeps the inside dry and clear,

but the chrome is going,

I usually remove them annually, clean and polish all over with Autosol, using a nylon toothbrush to clean/polish the nooks and crannies,

but in both inner pipes I am getting rust near the mounting brackets,

so,I need advice how to stop it going further,
and maybe preventing completely !!

 your help is needed !!

 John

I don't condone in any way what happened BUT being a truck driver for a living think on this when you stop

IF YOU CAN NOT SEE THE VEHICLE MIRRORS THE DRIVER CAN NOT SEE YOU.

nEXT TIME YOU ARE BEHIND A TRUCK SEE JUST HOW FAR BACK YOU NEED TO BE TO SEE both MIRRORS IF YOU ON THE CENTRE LINE

I agree, but the police calculated almost 50 meters behind the tailgate,

the whole event was unfortunate, but it is a good idea to have maybe a TV camera for the center blindspot,
to replace what would be a central interior mirror in a car.

have you guys signed the petition ?

I much prefer to ride my CB500-4

the cleaning is an awful chore !!

but ,at £1,500 + for a set of exhausts, they need to be kept good !!

anyoffers for help ??

I find the only to get them really clean,is to remove them, and lots of Autosol ,and elbow grease !!!

I recently needed copper grease for bolts, screws and disc pads,
went to a local factorer,he told me it had been withdrawn due to being a Hazardous substance,

the "green" replacement was hopeless !!

as it happens,I visited another motor supplier in another town, found it still on sale !! ???

this did the job well,

anyone know if the first guy was spinning a yarn ???

« on: December 30, 2013, 12:13:51 AM »
the geography of the UK suggests some were in the Midlands,

maybe a nice biker friendly pub, also with catering, ideally a sunday lunch ??

 any suggestions?

If it`s not the Isle of Man I suggest here...

http://www.strathmoregold.co.uk/

 ;)

its 243 miles each way for me,lets see how many others want to come,

or maybe suggest a venue slightly further south ?

so we can average the distances to no more than 150 miles eachway for most of us ?

Does such a thing happen?

I`d be interested in viewing peoples bikes, and listening to the craic.

Mike

I agree, but the problem of an internet based site,we are all miles apart,
and how far are members willing to travel? and are they prepared to actually ride their classic SOHC that far?

but,yes a meeting would be fun
