Title: mystery object in the oil?
Post by: baggins on July 28, 2019, 02:12:27 PM
On stripping my engine I have found this in the bottom of the crankcase. I have gone through the csma parts diagrams but so far no luck, so I am hoping someone on the forum can point me in the direction of where it came from.
Motor is a cb750 K5

It's the chain oiler adjuster and shouldn't be in the bottom of the engine as where it fits has a filter screen under it so it can't go anywhere.[attachimg=1]

How did that end up in the bottom of the crankcase? Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that virtually impossible?

Thanks Julie excellent info. That part and the sprocket was already stripped by the p/o, possibly when he removed the engine.
Roy, agreed, but as I have no history and bought it as a stalled/dismantled project I will never know.

AHH got ya. The part was probably dropped during the strip down.
