Title: Newbie......hi everyone.
Post by: Andy1488 on April 27, 2022, 08:47:22 AM
[attachimg=3][attachimg=3]Hi everyone...been riding donkeys years.
First bike was a honda SS50, I was 12.
Moving forwards, I've owned lots of bikes.

Now, due to health issues I've had to give up the sports bikes, and have to go a bit slower ;).

My current ride is a bandit hardtail chop, which is so comfortable to ride..

Anyway, I've just purchased, as a project,  what I believe to be a 1978 cb550E (as stamped on block). Again this is modified as an old skool choppers, extended for tubes, etc. She was a mess when I got her. Anyway, she's now running and painted, but unfortunately I'm gonna need advice from this forums members, as there's a few things stumping me.[attachimg=1]

What the hell is that on the clutch adjuster screw? Weird

No offense but those tappet covers are FUGLY. Strangely my BIL might like that, he's into he's choppers and stuff, also has a lot of those spiked nuts etc fitted which didn't turn out to well when trying to turn it round in the road near Sheffield, dropped it, spiked nut went straight through his ankle and pinned him to the ground. His is a CB750 engine one, won loads of shows with it, engraved casings etc. Doesn't float my boat at all but hey all types required eh?

Where in Lancs BTW? I'm close in Stockport if it's South Lancs.

I'll see if the BIL will send me a pic of his bike, might give you some inspiration.

I’m guessing the adjuster but cover is a skull tyre- valve cap…I have a pair somewhere. Not quite as classy though as the lime-green hand grenades that a friend has on his Kawasaki wheels..

Now that's looking better. Love the blue.

Delivered to the Asda in Accrington hundreds of times.

Never noticed the "rear gunner" on the BIL bike before, typical of him that.

Both him and the one of the other BIL are members of the "shiny, shiny, nice" club  ;D ;D ;D

Like a bit of bling but there is a point where it just goes OTT.

TBH.. the blue looks better in real light...you can see the silver flake better. Originally bought it as a project, get it running and sell on. But as is, I keep buying new bits, gave her a respray, and keep thinking what else can I do.
