CB500/550 / 550 carbs 069A. Question about gaskets.
« on: April 27, 2022, 11:20:34 AM »
Hi all,, newbie with a question about my carbs.
My intro explains my current project.
Modified cb550(E), with 069A carbs. These have been modded by a PO, which includes the removal of choke butterflies (don't ask).
My main concern is  my leaky bowls,( there's a joke there somewhere).
Anyway, the gasket in question are house shaped,  BUT I think I've also read, or misread that the correct gasket is actually round.
Can somebody please correct me and tell me which ones are the correct ones.. any links etc would be appreciated. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

[ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ] Hi everyone...been riding donkeys years.
First bike was a honda SS50, I was 12.
Moving forwards, I've owned lots of bikes.

Now, due to health issues I've had to give up the sports bikes, and have to go a bit slower ;).

My current ride is a bandit hardtail chop, which is so comfortable to ride..

Anyway, I've just purchased, as a project,  what I believe to be a 1978 cb550E (as stamped on block). Again this is modified as an old skool choppers, extended for tubes, etc. She was a mess when I got her. Anyway, she's now running and painted, but unfortunately I'm gonna need advice from this forums members, as there's a few things stumping me. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
