The chain guard on my bike has been painted black at some time and although it does have a small crease near the end it is quite small so I could go down the re-chrome route if a new one is not available from the UK.
DS & Bertrums are no stock or discontinued aside from CMS is there anyone else that supply replicas?

Is the small crease you speak of the depression just above the screw hole? It is actually supposed to be there even though it looks like an accident!

That recess is meant to be there, if it wasn't, the bottom of the shock would not fit.

No it's a small crease at right angles to the chain guard length quite close to the rear end. You can't see it in my poor photo.

Needs a dammed good "planishing" Sir, prior to rechrome. :)

With a bit of luck the chrome's might be able to do that - I would probably make it worse. I have previous for such things.
