Whilst restoring my spare set of carbs got me thinking (I know dangerous).
The long brass part that I call the emulsion tube had a series of holes down the sides what do they do?
I assume the fuel supply is restricted by the bottom orifice/jet plus the float level. Is it connected with atomisation perchance?

Yes, the emulsion tube is an atomiser.

Whatever you do Ted don't put 2 emulsion tubes together as one atomises and the next splits that atom, the resultant explosion has to be seen to be believed :) :)

You won't see it twice......'as they stagger blind and burned through the rubble those who survived will envy those who died'. :o I suggest letting the qualified work on your carbs! ;)
