CB350/400 / Reaching tail light wires
« Last post by Athame57 on Today at 02:34:49 PM »
Could it be my wires are too short or something? I had to bend the tang on my new tail light assembly to finally have the associated wire go on and the two other wires nearly had me burst a blood vessel.  >:( Honestly though when you have COPD it is things like this that make it show in the end. Is it easier to start undoing other things first. Any ideas?  ;)

Sorry if my post was ambiguous I did not mean to imply it was currently listed - in a way a good thing that he has offered it here first if that is the case.

Other Bikes / Re: BMW R80

I've owned BMW airheads on and off since the 1970's when I had one of the last R90S's into the UK.

I think that Matt Hull (Classic Bike Guide) did say that the bottom - end problems on his bike came through low oil level. Most of the older boxer engines had a real thirst for oil and on touring trips with other owners, often at the end of a long day's ride on the continent, we would buy a gallon of 20/50 and share it between three or four bikes. There was never any left in the container!

My understanding is that both the gearbox and shaft drive is difficult to self - service though there are a few well - known businesses that offer overhaul if needed.

Perhaps it might be worth joining the BMW Club, which has lots of information available, as well as a tool hire service for DIY work that includes nearly all of the special tools ever offered by BMW?

Yes I agree with you Steve about a site donation as he is saving on e-bay selling fees or advertising and not contibuting in other ways.

Maybe not Ted, but I can’t find any helpful content posted by this guy which leads me to believe he signed up just to sell stuff.

If that’s the case, he should at least donate to the upkeep.

Going well - I always enjoy the dismantling stage - goes without saying taking photos before stripping down and more detailed photos at various stages of dismantling helps later on.
It's amazing how easy it is to forget what way round an item fits when it's months later before you start assembling.
