CB500/550 / Some luck at last! NOS HM323 pipes.
« on: February 01, 2020, 04:05:39 PM »
After months of searching high and low and no joy whatsoever I mentioned to a mate who I hadn't seen for a while that we couldn't get a set of pipes for the K0 project..... "I've got a brand new set in the loft that are still in the Honda boxes, they're no use to me. Also I've gota new tank and side panels if that's any use?"
Sometimes a bit of luck does come your way!

CB500/550 / Tachometer gear/cover wanted
« on: January 07, 2020, 09:57:52 AM »
Hi folks.
I wondered if anyone had a tachometer gear & cover lying around that they would like to sell (number 9 & 10 in the picture)? They are available at CMSNL new but they are not cheap and the cost of this project seems to be spiralling by the day. Thanks, Andy

Thanks Guys.
My Dad hasn't looked hard enough on the DS site then! Lol.
With the way that costs are mounting we may be better off spending £125 on the pattern part as it will probably be cheaper in the end as Trigger says.

Pretty sure I have a DSS pattern seat here, new in the box, unused. Will tare a look. James
He is very inpatient. Just had a text to say that he has ordered the seat

CB500/550 / K0 seat
« on: July 14, 2019, 10:36:27 PM »
Good evening,
The seat base on our 500 K0 project is rotten and unfortunately it has gone past the point of repair.
Does anyone happen to know if there are any available at the moment?
Even the pattern parts seem to be out of stock.
Thanks.
Andy and Pete.

Welcome to the forum Dad!
He's the brains behind the outfit.
I put some pictures of the bike on a few weeks ago but this is how it looks now..

CB500/550 / Re: Exhausts...End of the line.
« on: June 15, 2019, 06:21:14 PM »
The lack of available HM323 exhausts is going to make restoring a CB500 properly a real pain in the ass. Amazed they aren’t re-stocking sooner; surely there must be a demand for them?

Well I'm after a set for a start.
I don't understand why they can't just get them in to order? Does anyone know who the manufacturer of the aftermarket exhausts is? Might be able to go direct to them?

Spoken to DSS today.
They won't be having the exhausts back in stock until next year at the earliest.
Gives us a quandary with our bike.... we have the original exhausts but they are a bit of a state.

Thank you all for your help on this.
We have managed to find a pair of forks with good internals so all sorted now until the next problem..
Head light brackets and exhausts might be the next hurdle.

Sorry, don't have any of that type. Never seen one broken like that before.

Thanks for looking Trigger.

I think I've managed to upload a picture now to show the part and where it is broken.

Which number on the parts fiche?

(Attachment Link)

How resourceful! Thanks Nurse Julie.

Number 1 (×2)

Also in desperate need of the headlight brackets (13 and 14) but I suppose everyone else is in the same boat there.

What has broken? Is the tread on the long rod gone? Maybe a replacement can be made.
Or get a set of forks that are cheap because of rusty stanchions.
A little rust showing on these.....check they are the correct ones and make a cheeky offer. +10% ebay over £50 this Friday/Saturday.

I'm trying to add a picture but the file is too big. It's the top of the damper where the rod goes into has come away on both legs.
