CB750 / Continental rb2's - anyone tries these?
« on: September 07, 2013, 02:39:36 PM »
Hi guys - after some advice here...for fittment to a '73 750 k3

Honda CB 750 K -'76 Front & Rear Tyre Continental RB 2

I generally use avon safety mileage or road runners on my 550/750 Hondas, but spotted these and seem good value to me. I also like the tread pattern which (aesthetically) seems to be a good compromise.

Most importantly, has anyone here had experience of using these on theirs?

CB500/550 / Cb550 carb installation - advice needed
« on: June 11, 2013, 11:36:53 PM »
Guys, I feel like a but of a twit asking this but I've always struggled removing / installing cb550 carbs.

The damn airbox / rubbers clearances are just so tight I always struggle. I've have a good dig around but can't really find any concrete advice on best practice.

Worst part is the re-installation. I've loosened the airbox assembly to give the max amount of 'wiggle room' but I still struggle regardless.

The bikes in question are both '75 cb550 k1's with the standard airbox.

Any guidance / best practice advice greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'm missing something somewhere...

Latest addition to my fleet...just arrived from the US. One owner, 14k miles, stunning condition. Small dent on the tank needs sorting - anyone know any good Paintless Dent technicians who work on bike tanks?

Cant wait to get her out on the road once UK MOT'd / registered..

Not quite sure how I stumbled across this one (all you sticklers for standard cb750's look away now....):

I like the general concept of a custom / scrambler style cb750, but have yet to see a really well executed one... What are your views?

Just had a bit of a nightmare with NRP carbs....

Purchased some CB360g  float bowl gaskets / o-rings from them back in Dec. Good pre-sales service / quick delivery.

However, removed the bowls from the bike today to adjust the float heights a little & they literally popped out as I was removing the bowls. The o-rings were so swollen they must have grown in length by 20-30%.

Rang NRP - advised to put them under a radiator to 'return back to normal size' - I questioned again & asked them to check exactly what had been delivered to me.

Turns out they had supplied non fuel resistant o-rings (i.e. not VITON). I clearly stipulated at the point of sale what these were for & asked if they were fuel resistant. They said they 'picked' the wrong parts.

I'm not saying they're  a bad seller by any means - I know they're a good, solid company to deal with and they're sending me replacements in the post today....

Just make sure you're clear when ordering from them. More of a heads-up than anything.
