10w40 or 15w40 (depending on the spec of oil). Mineral for running in 500 miles, then semi synthetic after that. From the Tea girl of a current professional engine builder of SOHC/4 Hondas 🤣🤣🤣🤣

CB350/400 / Re: Seal bolt torque.« on: July 22, 2019, 11:22:16 AM »
Agrees with Bryan. We have had minor leaks on these on un refurbed engines regularly and it is always the sealing washer that is to blame, not the torque of the nut. Never seen a torque setting for the nut. In fact, thinking about it even my CB550/4 mongrel which has had the engine re built had a weep, so we replaced the washer again then it was all ok. It is a very leak prone area 🙄

My Honda CD250u is ex police, Wiltshire Constabulary. It was never put on the road by them on active duty though, was sent to them by Honda to assess for suitability but never got used. I bought mine from the Finance Director of Honda UK Motorcycles.

For those new to the forum, today is 'Bitsa' Day. 4 years ago today, Ralph died, and he is still very much missed. An argumentative, pig headed, grumpy bastard but a diamond at heart. Never forgotten.

It was also the €1800 that put me off, as well as them just not being 'right'

Impossible to tell anything with it idling far too high. But, like you say, videos are difficult to hear anything on. It sounds like there is a rattle there somewhere, which would not be expected with the revs that high. Also, running quite poorly by the sounds of it, sounds like it needs a good service and basic maintenance before any real diagnostics can take place.
