This is how I refurbished my clocks, about a third of the way down the page.

I used the email address on his site which links to a catch all account and redirects to the cooperman address but both kept coming back undelivered from mailer deamon. Not a problem though, I got the part I was after from Motorsloop in Holland.

Does anyone know if he has gone out of business ? I keep getting my email returned as un-deliverable.

It does look a little small, there is no adjusting screw in the rim on mine.

I reduced the turning circle of the 400/4 when I made it into a cafe racer to stop the switch gear hitting the tank which made it awkward maneuvering it in the garage, so I invested in a bike dolly, the best £60 I have spent for a long time.

I'm surprised any of us are still alive if 70's/80's bikes were this bad.

I got mine off ebay from a Greek company, user name e.ride2010, they have since featured my bike on their official website. I had to cut off the tubes beyond the bridge though.

How can it affect the flow ? It's a symmetrical cup.

How is it going to wreck the gearbox ? It doesn't move, doesn't affect any moving parts and if nothing leaks past it it is doing it's job.

You are right about the metal cup dave400, this is what it looks like on the DS website, I would still be tempted to have a go though.

I don't know if anyone has ever replaced one in situ but if it was me I would give it a try, it looks like the tab isn't too big or too far from the edge so I would put it in at an angle locating the tab first then tap it into place, I would also put a smear of Hylomar on it.

It has got a tab sticking up but no flange (No 272 in the picture), I suppose how flexible it is will determine if it will go in without splitting/lifting the cases.
