Post by: mickharrow on July 03, 2015, 03:01:16 PM
Had serious clutch drag so pulled the clutch out today and checked everything and looked ok.
Still dragging badly and the arm that the cable goes into is moving but not a great deal and I have adjusted the centre screw and nut as recommended.the clutch is years old as I am putting together what was a basket case so wonder if a new clutch and springs are in order, opions please

Things that come to mind in order of happening
(1) Bad lifting machanism

(2) warped plates steel or fibre + contaminated fibre

(23 grooved outer basket

(4) grooved centre ( both those as in grooved by plates

(5) excess end float on clutch assembly/shaft

Plus there is a "mod" described by Hondaman on the US site about drilling oil holes in the clutch centre

hi, I am by far not an expert, but did someone also put up a post a short while ago about using synthetic oil??? could this be part of the problem?
