Title: Do I need to see a Shrink, Aerodynamicist .. or ENT Dept?
Post by: Lobo on December 16, 2020, 11:13:26 AM
This is really odd. My darned nose itches like buggery once under way. It drives me nuts, and at the lower speeds I’m constantly flipping up both visors and having a good old scratch. On the motorway I resort to massive face contortions and look like bloody Cosmo Smallpiece - the upside however is that other road users give me a wide berth....
And it gets a bit more wierd; the problem lessens if I flip the inner sun visor up!.

I’m using a Schuberth C4 Pro, any others with a similar affliction?
😂😂😂

I get an itchy hooter sometimes.

It may be caused by drafts.

Sometimes I get the old hooter itch but worse is fighting the urge to sneeze. A problem, a bit along the lines of a fart in a spacesuit. :-\

You have got what i call "Pinball Itch" i get it when i'm playing pinball and can't leave the flipper buttons for one second for fear of the ball draining, although with me it is not just the nose but anywhere on the face. I think it's a mental thing, or another version of "sod's law", it only seems to strike at the most inopportune moment.

Get one of those battery powered nasal hair trimmers.  That'll sort it

Yep, I get an itchy nose when riding, almost like a very, very light electric shock. If I ride a bit slower, it stops itching 😊😊😊😊

Happens to me too.  I thought it was just me!  I use the hook side of the velcro fastening on my gloves to scratch it.  Ecstacy.  I also get an itch on my collarbone and my jacket is to tight to get at it.

Have you got a beard or mustache? Maybe fleas or pubic lice are sheltering in your nostril at above 20 mph? Maybe the problem will go when the weather gets warmer.  ;D

I don’t get an itchy nose but i used to get an annoying itch in my ears nearly every time i set off riding....usually within 2 mins, and i had to stop and take my lid off and have a right good wiggle before resuming... then all would be ok. But earlier this year i bought a new lid and after a few weeks i suddenly noticed that my itchy lug problems had all gone away. My old lid was a Bell and the new one is an HJC rpha11.. I must say, as well as being much more comfortable, the HJC is miles superior to the Bell, which is only a year old but I never gelled with it....noisy, itchy lugs and when it was brand new, excess glue on my hands when putting it on.... a big disappointment, but the HJC is on another level.

I have the same Schuberth C4 and I find it puts a fair bit of pressure on my forehead and ears and takes awile to get used too.
The buckle pisses me of more then anything as I almost always pinch my chin in it.
I find I tend to get itchy shins when I first put my boots on.

...it seems I’m not alone. Yep Mike, the nasal passages long since trimmed to within an inch of their life - ugh. And nope, no beard / moustache etc.

The fleas was a good thought, though ‘warmer weather’ is 100% of the time here...

My helmet is new, I may have to wait 5 years before seeing if that’s the issue and moving onto a shrink.

I have no itching issues I put it down to having a helmet with a leather interior or........

Then again it could be the Adrenaline rush nukes  the itch hormones !
