Just for you, Ted.

Neat looking paint job Phil well worth the wait!
What did you do where the fuel tap fits leave as bare metal or paint?
-
Bare metal.
-
That looks well Phil, was that a Menno job or local 'brown' supplier?
-
Sean of the Derby. Brown, brown…how dare you😀
-
My favourite F2 colour.
-
Could have been worse…orange even…Roo?

Actually is does. Those photos are a year old or so old. I think the colour is described as candy presto red. I’m pretty sure is one of two colours for the 77 F2, the other being blue?
-
Aaaah, thought you were on with another one. Mine was supposed to be blue originally but even after 12 layers of paint I never did find any….(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230218/314830ad232a902c5636877a0cf503e5.jpg)
Although layer 4 might have been the original looking at the photo again…..

I have a set like that for sale if anyone needs one...
-
Bloody hell Menno, that looks awesome.
Us leaving the EU has really buggered up having you do the paintwork, I voted to leave and I'm not sorry I did but there are disadvantages.
-
Yup, another outstanding set by Menno. Unfortunately it wasn’t an option on my budget, but if things were different financially I’d have them in a heartbeat.
-
Yes indeed, stunning finish on that set, love the colour too!
-
If I ever go to the continent I'm loading the car up with as many tank and panel sets I can fit and dropping them off at Mennos on the way out and pick them up on the way back.
What's that Mr Customs officer? just some scrap metal I picked up on the Normandy beaches, WW2 stuff you know.
-
So... I have a question, just to get some information:
Is it so difficult nowadays to import something from the continent?
For example; if I were to sell this set for a 1000 British Pounds how much extra cost would be added to get it into the UK?
All I know that it used to cost 22 euro to ship a tank and side covers back to the UK.
Since the UK is not in the EU anymore but a 3rd party it costs now 38 euro and I need to fill out a form with content and value of the shipment.
Anyone have any insight on that?
-
I think trick to avoid extra fees can be to declare it as "repair', but I'm sure there is someone who have better view...

Import duty is 3% of goods then add the goods, duty and postage together and vat is 20% of that (yes there is tax on the tax) then the post office charge £13 i think for the privelege of collecting the money to pass on th HMRC. I am assuming it will be a parcel as parcel force charge more than post office even though they are same firm ish
