I suppose you could clean it off and run a bead of superglue or similar around the join between the two surfaces?

CB500/550 / Anyone interested in buying my bike?
« on: September 16, 2020, 10:34:58 AM »
I've not been riding my 1972 CB500 Four much and I think I really need a new project. It goes, stops and handles as it should with having so much spent on it! Not being a hard line rivet counter I'm quite happy to use bits that just make the bike work. However it is still a sound basis for a full restoration and my problem is I don't know how much to ask for it.

Back in the day the next item that swiftly followed the original tyres into the cut was the headlamp unit to be replaced by a Cibie one. At least I could see it was a badger I was about to hit!

anyone actually tried it themselves?

No, but then it's quite hard to find a bike with a rear wheel weight bias.

A scissor jack platform under the sump works for me.

I've bought a new throttle pipe off eBay that says it it fits a wide range of classic Honda models. It fitted OK and the lead lift of the ramp looks a bit longer than the old one. It did feel a bit better to me although it's still 90 degrees closed to open.

Being married has many advantages and one is the access to an old pair of tights. I used them to cover the open bell mouths on carbs to prevent stones and small children being sucked in. Not easy for a old fashion, non metro sexual bloke to walk into a shop to buy women's tights ::)

😂😂 What's the recommended denier for elf and safety on open bellmouths?

There's alway one....and no, colour doesn't matter! :D :D  :D

www.opieoils.co.uk

I use these people but use any 10w40 oil. Doesn't matter which brand really, they're all blended to the same basic standards.
