Ahhhh, thank you. It’s not hard for me to be baffled, much appreciated.

Not sure if anyone really uses tapatalk but I’m usually on my phone so it’s my usual way to access, any idea if there’s a way to see them using that?

What’s the answer, I can’t see mine either, only received messages?

Had 20 miles on the 750 today, it’s the first run since winterisation and it felt great. I’ve been slow getting out this year as I’ve had a new shed build with a little project inside it and the other bikes haven’t been able to get out due to some garden work. They’ve spent most of the time living in the house. Normality has been resumed.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have burnt the centres out, tomorrow I will take a hacksaw to the outer sleeve and see if I can get that out without butchering it.

The swing arm bushes were a real struggle but I got there in the end, I will be replacing these with bronze bushes.

The CB360 swing arm has no grease nipple, for those in the know, is it worth fitting one and if so, any recommendations as to how / where and any particular grease nipples to go for? I’ve never fitted one before but happy to have a go, feels like there should be one around the middle of the swingarm?

That was my thinking for next steps but was trying to avoid it if possible!

I wonder if anyone has any tips or tricks to remove the lower suspension rubber bushes from the swing arm??

I’ve tried pressing them out with a couple of sockets, that just resulted in me bending the bolt, tried soaking them and knocking them out with a punch but the little blighters won’t budge!!

Am I resigned to trying to cut them out and trying not to damage anything?

What bike did they come off?

Pretty sure it was a CB750

If you buy new, the spring rates should be for the bike,

The SH shocks could be to hard, or to soft,

Also, jacking the back up by nearly an inch should make it less likely to scrape on corners

Will your mate let you try them?

Might be the way forward

He will to be fair but if it was a hard no for safety reasons then I wouldn’t bother.

They are pretty new to be honest and if it’s not going to make a massive amount of difference I would go with them.

I have been looking for some rear shocks for my CB360, they seem to be offered in various lengths, 317mm - 335mm. Would it make much of a difference either way? The 317mm would be a good match for what’s come off the bike but I’ve been offered 335mm gratis from a friend.

I felt like I had lost my way a little with this, I was doing too many different things at once, so I have put the engine back m one piece and popped it in the corner for now and will revisit that near the end, that feels like the best way round to do things.

I’m just freshening up a few of the painted bits, not a back to metal and respray or powder coat job, just enough to smarten things up for now. I shouldn’t be too far away from refurbishing some bits and can start slowly putting things back on the frame.

It’s certainly doing its job of giving me loads of hands on experience as a first attempt and I’m loving it.

Not sure on the exact sizes of the original rubber sleeving but this may be a starting point .. they do many other sizes.

That’s brilliant, thank you for that.

You could fit an Intergas Combi using the tank fed system. That would mitigate the mains pressure issue, which with the concrete floors is definitely a risk factor. We haven’t personally fitted one ourselves but I know other installers have used them in the same circumstances and have really rated them. My business partner is currently in the process of moving house and is seriously considering doing the same. If I’m honest I always dismissed the intergas boilers but having received some really positive feedback I would definitely consider them in the right circumstances, they are very different to a conventional Combi with very few mechanical parts to go wrong. So no personal experience to draw upon but might be worth some research?

Good morning all, just going through a few bits this morning and it’s time to address this, does anyone have a recommendation as to what I could sleeve the starter motor cable with? The exisiting is rotten, the actual cable itself is fine, so I don’t really want to replace the whole thing unless I have to, plus they don’t seem that easy to find!
