No Uli, not particularly ...it's just more realistically priced to sell rather than the ones that  the likes of  Frank at Motorcycles Unlimited purports to sell for mega money ......but doesn't ;)

At least he can sell you the correct no number exhaust, surprised he hasn't and added to the price, but no doubt he'll offer to sell you a system when you go to pick it up.

That was my thought too. With no.nu. pipes that will be 23.5 and that’s rather cheap.
Is it a survivor? Maybe too good for not being restored, e.g. rear brake rod, chain tensioner ...
I can see a slim line altern. cover. Would like to know the VIN and engine number. Matching?

.

In 2014 he passed on an ultra-nice sandcast for his museum that I put him on to (seller in the USA was asking about 17k GBP). It was owned by the SOOC guru Steve Swan. Instead he bid and won this one below. I was talking to him at Bonhams at the sale of the UK diecast press bike YLY 70H last year. He told me that even though the owner (who was there and was the original purchaser from Honda UK in 1970) was expected around £35k for it DS told me there was no way that the bike would go past £20k. Guess what he was dead right. You have to give it to the guy, he certainly knows his onions buying and selling NOS parts and bikes...that's why he's where he is today.

BTW if he did sell you a set of pipes with that sandcast he's selling, then, even  at his full retail price....then you are getting a bit of a bargain as the HM300 No.No.s he sells are from Yamiya and looking of his price of £1,195 compared with £1,086 direct (plus import/shipping) from Yamiya,  then how much would it cost you to ship plus  import duty the Yamiya pipes? Sometimes the facts speak for themselves.
I wish someone on these forum would share an actual bona fide sales invoice for one of the K0 / Sandcast mega money 'sales' ...just to prove me wrong !

Is $13,000 the guide price of the Mecum bike or what it sold for? That’s less than £10k, a diecast in that condition would fetch more than that here, no wonder people import them. What’s with the seat - collapsed foam or shortarse version?

Having already been raped by HMRC and parclefarce for the full set of CB750 shells I bought from Yamiya last year, I have considered getting a set of those pipes from DS and stashing them in my attic for the future, in case the offer is not repeated when the current stock is sold.

The seat will have collapsed as it was the 'crumbly with old age' red rubber-foam type. Apart from that is was a bog standard minter from a private museum collection.

I logged into Mecum and did that screenshot and yes it sold for that plus buyers premium. He then saw a Sandcast on Craigslist in the USA with VIN 750 and bought that and sold the Mecum bike 'too cheaply probably' ...his words ! Personally I think the Mecum bike was much more original than the one he has in his museum ...but of course VIN 750 is iconic ( shouldn't it be 736  ;)  ) and a much earlier build....The one in the museum has a points cover stamped SOHC  ...aaargh!

I think it depends on the climate ULi . I have heard of NOS seats collapsing.  Or maybe a rodent got in there .. I found a mouse nest in a 500K0 seat I got from the USA  :D

I would certainly say it's priced about right, you can not compare this to the price of a correct fully restored sandcast bike, at that age every mechanical part is probably worn considerably , paintwork is not going to be brilliant either, also why state it's age at 1970 sancasts and the best k0,s were 1969
Has any one looked in to this further ie vin and engine numbers

I had asked about this bike and according to info I have it is vin number below 1500 So it is an early type.

If all is as described and only exhausts are missing I think its a good price .

Does the engine match? I wonder why numbers are not shown in the advert.
It has left hand horn mounting, so "VIN below 1.500" sounds reasonable.
