Anybody fitted a Dynotec electronic ignition to a cb 750 and if so are they ok. thanks

My friend Pat had a 73 CB750 come through his shop with one, evidently they burn up rather quickly sometimes, and we pulled it and fitted points back into it, it ran great after that... Wouldn't be my choice for an electronic ignition, but others have had them and hadn't experienced this type of problem. It was the 2nd one in this bike.
